Depression and Dying for Aides and Volunteers

Death is an inevitable part of the life process! Individuals at the end of life can have different reactions to knowing that death is near. These reactions could lead to depression. Hospice aides and volunteers may be uncomfortable working with individuals at end of life. They may be unsure of how to manage a person at end of life who is depressed. In this course we consider death as part of the life process, describe how depression can impact those at end of life, and the role of the non-licensed caregiver when working with those who are near end of life.
